Exploring the energy of Melchizedek and the order of Melchizedek
Twice now I have had the opportunity to paint the energy associated with Melchizedek.
I was first introduced to the concept of the Order of Melchizedek whilst working on The Gateway of Light Activation Oracle where I was tasked with creating a card that felt like being embraced by light, that your mission was uncovered and to not give up. Kyle Gray explained to me (and shares in the guidebook) that “the Order of Melchizedek is a divine order of very high-frequency light beings, angels and masters who are working together as an energetic force dedicated to lighting up and outshining all darkness and bringing a balance of masculine and feminine energies to the Earth.”
I wanted to convey a sense of wonder with this card. That perhaps you came across this monumental pillar on your journey through the unknown and suddenly have a sense that you are indeed on the right path and that the way forward is now lit for you. It remains one of my favourite pieces from The Gateway deck.
The Divine Masters Oracle deck also features Melchizedek but this time in physical form and I was reminded to tap into the wise energy of a Merlin-like figure to build a representation of this energy. This piece was such a delight to paint. I do love painting a face aged with wisdom and exploring soft but subtle textures. The design featured in the background is also featured (in an adapted way) on the back of the cards.

Melchizedek, whose name means “king of righteousness,” is the first high priest mentioned in the Bible, the one who initiated all the heart teachers who came after him. He is mentioned in several Abrahamic texts, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, and also in the Qabalistic text the Zohar.
He is an ancient gatekeeper of light who is dedicated to helping all those walking the spiritual path take the initiatory steps to align with the light.
He is the leader of a spiritual group called the Order of Melchizedek, a divine order of light beings, angels, and masters, including Archangel Michael and Jesus, who work in congregation to bring light and energy to the world. These beings are the keepers of Christ light and Holy Spirit energy.
