Today, I want to open up about two big topics: why I believe in the power of human-made art (even as AI-generated images flood the internet), and a new challenge on the horizon for my American collectors—changes to U.S. import tariffs.
The True Value of Human Art in an AI World
Let’s get real: the rise of AI-generated “art” has made it easier than ever for anyone to download, print, and sell images that were created in seconds by a machine. I see it everywhere—from social media to online shops—AI prints are often sold at premium prices, sometimes even higher than the work of living, breathing artists.
But here’s what I know for sure:
Every piece I create carries my energy, intuition, and hours (sometimes days) of real, human effort. My art isn’t just pixels on a screen or ink on paper—it’s a reflection of my spiritual practice, my lived experience, and my commitment to bringing something meaningful into the world. No AI can replicate that.

🇺🇸Important Update for U.S. Collectors: New Import Tariffs
Starting August 29th, the United States is changing its import tariff rules for international orders. Until now, American shoppers could order up to $800 worth of art and goods from abroad without having to pay any customs charges. That’s about to change.
What’s happening?
The U.S. government will be removing the $800 duty-free threshold for imported goods.
What’s still unclear: Will there be a flat $80 customs charge on all incoming packages, or will customs fees be based on the value of each item?
As of today, official details are still emerging, and I’m doing my best to keep up with the latest updates.
Why does this matter?
A large part of my collector base is in the U.S. If customs charges suddenly increase or become unpredictable, it could make it much harder (and more expensive) for you to collect my work. Honestly, it’s a bit nerve-wracking—not just for me as a small business, but for anyone who loves supporting independent creators from around the world.
I’m already seeing fellow artists closing their shops to American shoppers for fear that parcels will get refused and be returned to the UK with a hefty fee on top. Needless to say - it’s a fun time to be an artist!
