Behind the Scenes - Opportunity & Change
Hi everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to read about Enigma's story in my last angel post. I’m really glad you enjoyed seeing behind the scenes. It’s been fun remembering each of their little stories. Opportunity and Change was also created early on in the project and like a lot of the cards it came with the challenge of representing a complex concept that could not necessarily be depicted by a figure so simply. I don’t know about you but I personally love my comfort zone and change can be difficult for me, so creating a piece that felt encouraging and welcoming was important. Something that spoke of the potential for adventure and greatness beyond.
The little swallow in her hand is a traditional symbol of journeys and leaving the past behind you, one sits in her palm whilst two more have already taken flight into the world beyond. A step through the archway takes the viewer into a new dawn and a misty, beautiful world filled with promise. The images show the sketches and colour roughs that illustrate how the art goes from rough nebulous idea to a finished piece.
