Moving Studios
Hi friends,
As some of you know, I have considered this beautiful yellow building my studio base for some 5+ years now and I have now made the decision to close it’s doors for the last time at the end of this year (2022).
When I first started out on this adventure of being a full-time artist in 2016 I never intended to have a shop or a base other than my home. But the shop (The Blue Boat) was offered to me from a friend, and I took it on, the running of it and maintaining of it and moved it a few years later to this lovely location seen in the picture above. This is a dream building for almost anyone, with a gorgeous loft studio space, loads of light and storage and a olde world charm and it has served me well over the years that I’ve been here. But now I feel I may have outgrown it. The purpose of having the shop was to get some income coming in whilst I was setting up my illustration business, and it has done that. Now my illustration business is at a point that I feel like the shop is more of a hindrance than a help and it’s time to free up some areas of my life so I can be open to new opportunities and commit myself fully to my art business.
Needless to say this is wonderful news! I never thought I would be giving up this beautiful studio space but I feel really excited about now being able to move my studio to my (relatively) new home and having my base of operations in one place now. We shall see what the future now holds for me!
