A Look Back at 2019
2019 has been a whirlwind of a year for me as I landed one of the biggest commissions of my career thus far right at the beginning of the year! Still - somehow, I managed to get a lot of other things done as well as that mammoth project! Here’s a quick recap!
Completed Two Totems
Naturally, my own personal projects went on the back-burner this year, but I still managed to complete two Totems - Seahorse and Llama as part of the Totem Project that I hope to complete in 2020.
Commissions
A couple of other commissions were squeezed in in my spare time and all of them an absolute joy to work on!
If you’re considering commissioning me to create something for you, do drop me a line now as my schedule is filling up fast for 2020.
Bookish Merchandise
Throughout the year I continued to collaborate with my favourite bookish merch suppliers Wick & Fable (Fabled Merch) and Luminary Box to design beautiful enamel pins and illustrations. In total I created 13 pins, 2 mugs, 3 illustrations, 1 patch and 2 pairs of socks! Not bad!
Archangel’s War Box
ARCHANGEL’S WAR BOX
I was also delighted to be approached by Bae Crate to illustrate for their September box featuring the latest book in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. This is one of my favourite series, so of course I couldn’t turn this down!
Attended Lightbox Expo
I managed to fulfil a dream of going to an illustration conference - the inaugural Lightbox Expo in September. And what fun it was! Plus I got to visit family. Win win!
Found time for creative fun
Inbetween commissions I managed to find the time for some creative fun times (though it’s all fun - let’s be honest) and created a few new pieces for my portfolio.
Hawks & Snoot
I finally got around to finalising a cute little illustration that may one day turn into a web-comic. Who knows when… keep an eye out for it… ;)
Inktober 2019
I got a few sketches done for Inktober - combining Inky smooshes with digital illustration. I kind of love what came out of it, so I’m looking forward to exploring this style again soon!
Phewf! It’s been a busy one and the time has flown by! I’m super excited for what 2020 holds for me and my creative career and I look forward to sharing it with you as time progresses. Thanks - as ever - for joining me on this journey! Until next time!
