Orison
Orison was painted at a difficult time for my family. My sister was having her second child and there were some severe complications. It was touch and go as to whether the baby would survive. I often use art as a means to work through difficult emotions and also paint how I feel about the world. In this instance, I was stalwart in my belief that we have angels watching over all of us, even those not yet born. I was keeping in mind all those who had lost babies through miscarriage and other means and my hope was that this artwork would help them feel secure in the knowing that their loved ones were held in the wings of angels.
I’m delighted to say my neice Isabella is thriving and a print of this artwork now hangs on the walls of NICU in Los Angeles.
