Lionsgate 2025

Animal Visions
Written By Jennifer Hawkyard

A beautiful painting of a golden lion, there is a cold blue star at his chest and a beautiful radiant flower above his head.

Every year, as the Lionsgate portal approaches on August 8th, I create a new piece of art to honour this powerful energetic gateway. This year, I felt inspired to begin early so I could feature my latest “Lionsgate” painting in Volume 2 of the Imaginarium Journal, which is now live on Kickstarter.

As I worked on this piece, I was struck by the symbolism that emerged: the lower star, surrounded by shadow, seems to represent the intensity and challenges of our current times. In contrast, the luminous star above the lion’s head—where his gaze is fixed—embodies a hopeful vision for the future, one illuminated by peace, love, and higher consciousness. This artwork is both a reflection of where we are and a reminder to keep our eyes on the light ahead.

If you feel drawn to this energy, you can discover more about the Imaginarium Journal and support the project on Kickstarter.
